Washington EV Charging Incentives for Multifamily Properties

Avista will install make-ready infrastructure for AC Level-2 chargers at your business. Avista covers 100% of dedicated installation costs up to the charger, up to $5,000 per port connection.

Clark Public Utilities is offering EV charging rebates for Level 2 up to $500 per charger and DC fast charging up to $1,500 per charger. Customers installing DC fast chargers may be eligible for a Demand Charge Credit. Municipalities and Non-Profits are also eligible to apply for additional grant funding from the utility.

Mason County's PUD 3 offers a rebate to customers who have purchased/installed qualifying level 2 wall or pedestal-mount EV charging equipment. Incentives range from $500 to $1000 per charger, and is subject to available funds.

PSE’s Up & Go Electric for Multifamily program covers up to 100 percent of the cost for qualifying multifamily properties to install and maintain Level 2 charging for their tenants. Customers may select the customer-owned option allowing for up to 50% of equipment and installation costs up to $2,000 per Level 2 charging port.

Seattle City Light (SCL) can help you save on charging solutions to power your fleet. SCL offers multiple charger rebate options for both on-road vehicles and non-road equipment, and can help you select what is best for your fleet. Charging rebate amounts vary by technology category and are split into two tiers based on organization type and range from $25,000 to $100,000 per site. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and all approved applications will receive a rebate reservation letter, guaranteeing funding for a limited time.

Seattle City Light is currently offering incentives for utility make-ready in addition to hardware for multi-family AC (Level 2) charging. Project caps per location range from 50% to 100% up to $25,000 per site of total project costs up to a dollar amount, dependent on the multi-family property type. Snohomish County Public Utility District customers with commercial meters located within Snohomish PUD service territory who purchase and permanently installed EV chargers are eligible for rebates. New construction facilities required by Washington state code to install EV infrastructure in 5% of parking spaces are eligible for a $500 rebate per Level 2 port and existing facilities requiring infrastructure construction are eligible for a $1000 rebate per Level 2 port.

Washington Lighting Upgrade Incentives for Multifamily Properties

PSE offers rebates and grants to offset the cost of in-unit and common area upgrades that improve energy efficiency and can lower utility bills. Properties within Tribal Communities, built before 1986, with tenants that use rental assistance, or those classified as "affordable" or "mixed (market/affordable)" qualify for the highest amounts. Seattle City Light provides complimentary assistance and financial incentives to help multifamily building owners save energy and money. Incentives are available for common area upgrades, including lighting fixtures and controls. Projects with 50% or more income-qualified tenants may be eligible for up to 90% of project costs through the HomeWise Multifamily Weatherization Program

SET provides financing for energy-efficiency or renewable energy projects up to $1 million for multifamily housing property owners. Eligible projects must reduce utility consumption by at least 10%. Loans are typically structured so that payments are less than the utility savings, resulting in financial savings for the property owner

Avista offers rebates for energy-efficient equipment installations in multifamily residences with four units or less. For properties with five or more units, business rebate options are available. Rebates can be applied for lighting upgrades and other energy-efficient improvements.

Wahkiakum PUD offers rebates for non-residential lighting upgrades, including LED retrofits. Pre-qualification is required, and projects must obtain pre-approval before installing any energy efficiency measures. Rebates are available for qualified lighting upgrades in commercial and industrial buildings.
