  • Under the federal Inflation Reduction Act, Idaho is developing two rebate programs to assist with energy efficiency upgrades:

    • Home Energy Performance-Based, Whole-House Rebate Program: Provides rebates ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 for individual households and up to $400,000 for multifamily buildings based on energy savings achieved through retrofits.

    • High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program: Offers prescriptive rebates on a percentage of the cost for efficiency projects, with a rebate cap of $14,000, based on household income.

These programs are expected to roll out by mid-2025. Property owners interested in receiving program and application information as it becomes available can sign up through the Idaho Office of Energy and Mineral Resources

  • Idaho Power provides incentives for multifamily buildings with five or more attached dwelling units. Eligible projects include new construction, major renovations, and retrofits of dwelling units and common areas. Incentives aim to offset capital expenses for energy-efficient lighting, HVAC systems, and building shell measures. The incentive is capped at 100% of the project cost. Pre-approval is required for projects with estimated incentives of $2,000 or more or complete lighting upgrade projects. To participate, property owners can contact Idaho Power's program representatives

  • Rocky Mountain Power provides lighting incentives for businesses, including multifamily properties, to encourage energy-efficient lighting upgrades. Incentives are available for LED lighting retrofits, occupancy-based controls, and signage lighting.
