Hawai’i Energy Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate
Hawai'i Energy, is providing up to $4,500 for each newly installed dual-port Level 2 EV networked charging station at eligible workplaces and multi-unit dwellings and up to $35,000 per networked DC Fast Charging stations. The program also provides rebates on retrofitted stations up to $3,000 per networked Level 2 dual port stations and up to $28,000 per networked DC Fast Charging stations. Rebates are available on a first-come first-served basis while funding lasts, or until June 30, 2025.

Hawai’i Lighting Upgrade Incentives for Multifamily Properties

Hawaiʻi Energy provides rebates for energy efficiency improvements in multifamily properties and Associations of Apartment Owners (AOAOs). Eligible upgrades include lighting retrofits, booster pumps, heat pump water heating, submetering, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. For example, Waikiki Banyan achieved annual bill savings of $45,624 through lighting and custom lighting retrofits. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability of funds.

Hawaiʻi Energy offers instant rebates for purchasing and installing energy-efficient lighting, such as LED fixtures, in multifamily properties. These rebates can cover up to 90% of lighting energy costs. Rebates are available to residential electric utility ratepayers on Hawaii Island, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability of funds.

For new construction or major renovation projects, Hawaiʻi Energy offers rebates for incorporating energy-efficient features, including lighting upgrades, into building design. Rebates are calculated based on energy savings, with standard prescriptive rebates and custom rebates available. This program applies to commercial and multifamily new construction and major renovation projects.

The GEM$ On-Bill Program, administered by the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority, provides financing for energy efficiency and solar systems. Financing is available to eligible homeowners, renters, small business owners, nonprofit organizations, commercial tenants, and state agencies. This program can help offset the upfront costs of energy-efficient lighting upgrades.
