Florida EV Charging Incentives for Multifamily Properties

  • Duke Energy Florida offers rebates for a variety of customers who choose to install either Level 2, DC fast chargers, or both. Rebates range from $627 per Level 2 charger up to $35,600 for DC fast chargers, depending on the location the equipment is installed. Customers must be granted preapproval prior to purchasing equipment may not install more than 10 chargers per location.

  • ChargeUP! Sarasota County is a program administered by the Sarasota County government to provide rebates to certain types of businesses, non-profits and local governments within Sarasota County for the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. Non-profits or government organizations may qualify for incentives of 50% of the cost, up to $4,000. Businesses may qualify for incentives of 25% of the cost, up to $2,000.

  • Jacksonville Electric Association offers commercial customers rebates for the purchase or lease of electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging stations. EVs and EV charging stations must be purchased and installed between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2025. Customers may receive a minimum rebate of $1,000 per Level 2 charger or $5,200 per DC fast charger from JEA.

Florida Lighting Upgrade Incentives for Multifamily Properties

  • Duke Energy offers multifamily programs that may include incentives for energy-efficient lighting upgrades. It's recommended to contact Duke Energy directly to inquire about specific incentives available for lighting improvements in multifamily properties.

  • Florida Public Utilities offers a natural gas multifamily incentive program that provides cost-saving incentives to multifamily developers and property owners. While this program primarily focuses on natural gas appliances and infrastructure, it's advisable to contact FPU directly to inquire about any available incentives for lighting upgrades.

  • Florida provides tax exemptions for renewable energy properties, including solar-powered lighting systems. You may be eligible for an 80% property tax abatement when installing solar lighting systems. Additionally, federal Investment Tax Credits (ITC) can save you 30% on the cost of installing outdoor solar-powered lights.

  • OUC's Multifamily Efficiency Program offers rebates for various energy and water-efficient upgrades, including lighting improvements. Rebates are available for ceiling insulation, cool/reflective roofs, duct repair/replacement, ENERGY STAR® heat pump water heaters, ENERGY STAR® windows, heat pump A/C systems, window film/solar screens, Florida Water Star certification, high-efficiency toilets, and smart irrigation controllers.

  • Tampa Electric provides rebates for installing energy-efficient lighting systems. For conditioned spaces, you can earn a rebate of $250 per kilowatt (kW) reduction, while for non-conditioned spaces, the rebate is $200 per kW reduction. Please note that stadium lighting, sports field lighting, and landscape lighting are not eligible for this rebate.
