Connecticut EV Charging Incentives for Multifamily Properties

Eversource is offering the CT Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Program to incentivize the installation of EV supply equipment (EVSE) charging stations. Eversource offers commercial customers EV charging rebates for multifamily, public and workplace Level 2 chargers and public DC Fast charging projects. Level 2 projects are eligible for rebates up to $20,000 per site and up to $40,000 per site for locations in an Environmental Justice Community. Level 2 applications are processed in the order they are received. Public DC Fast projects are eligible for rebate amounts up to $150,000 and up to $250,000 for sites in EJ Communities. Project scoring encourages DCFC projects to have a minimum of 150 kW. 2025 DCFC applications are being accepted March 15th through June 1st, 2025. Contractors installing equipment must be EVITP certified.

United Illuminating in Connecticut offers their Electric Vehicle (EV) Make-Ready Program, designed to assist business customers with installing EV charging stations. Customers may receive up to 100% reimbursement of costs for electrical improvements needed to support Level 2 charging. Applications for DC Fast Charging are currently not accepted. Additionally, up to 50% may be reimbursed for the installed EV charging stations. Qualifications may differ based on business type and use of charger.

Connecticut Lighting Upgrade Incentives for Multifamily Properties

This statewide program provides customized solutions for multifamily buildings or complexes with five or more units. It includes energy assessments, technical assistance, and financial incentives for energy efficiency upgrades, such as exterior lighting improvements. Eligible properties include apartment buildings, condominiums, senior housing, and mixed-use residential/commercial properties.

Commercial and multifamily property owners can receive instant rebates ranging from $2 to $200 per qualified energy-saving light fixture. These rebates apply to both interior and exterior lighting upgrades, including LED systems and lighting controls. Rebates are available through participating distributors, making it convenient to upgrade lighting without paying the full upfront cost.

Groton Utilities provides cash incentives for the installation or retrofit of energy-efficient lighting systems, including outdoor fixtures. The program also offers rebates for lighting occupancy controls and daylight harvesting systems. Rebates are based on energy savings and can cover up to 40% of project costs, with a maximum annual rebate of $100,000.
