Colorado Lighting Upgrade Incentives for Multifamily Properties

  • The City of Fort Collins provides a program offering no-cost energy assessments and direct installation of products such as high-efficiency lighting. Based on the assessment, property owners may qualify for additional cash rebates by completing energy-efficiency equipment upgrades, including outdoor lighting fixtures.

  • The Colorado Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program enables owners of multifamily buildings with five or more units to finance energy efficiency improvements, including high-efficiency lighting. C-PACE offers up to 100% financing for existing building retrofit projects, with terms extending up to 25 years. The financing is repaid through a special assessment recorded in the county land records.

To qualify, at least 66% of the property's units must be occupied by residents earning at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

Rebates are available up to $25 per fixture, with an additional $10 rebate for ENERGY STAR certified fixtures. Eligible fixtures must be fully shielded from weather and have a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin or less.
